Story: Ads issue

Phishing is a type of social engineering where an attacker sends a fraudulent (e.g., spoofed, fake, or otherwise deceptive) message designed to trick a person into revealing sensitive information to the attacker[1] or to deploy malicious software on the victim’s infrastructure like ransomware. – Wikipedia

I searched for the information. I can see that many people searched for some protections after clicking phishing emails. I know that freelance needs to check both inbox and spam box every day. We post our email publicly on our website. It is easy to misuse by anyone. We cannot avoid the mistake to click phishing emails. We need to know how to react to it.

*Usually, you cannot see a sender’s email inbox without right-clicking. I exported this phishing email by PDF. That’s why it displays.

This is a different type of phishing email. I am not a heavy Amazon(online shopping) user, but it’s the holiday season. Some people may click the link.

I searched for what I need to do if I clicked a phishing email, but I could not find reliable information. I did not input any information. I did not download anything. Mainly, articles mention like, your personal information may be leaked, disconnect the internet asap, and change the password. How can I change all the passwords? It is unrealistic.

I run a Malwarebytes 2 times and the result was above. It is a free account. I don’t say you can calm down if it is no problem.

I connected the internet through a VPN as much as possible. What I mean by that I cannot access some websites through a VPN, often a financial website. It is blocked. It consumes more data than usual. VPN sometimes interrupts sending emails.

Conclusion: Waiting for the next unicorn

I received a similar spam email the next day. I checked the sender’s email carefully and sent it spam inbox in a second.

I have an issue with spam email. I received it every day. I believe that so many people too. I don’t know how to solve this, but this is a startup opportunity. If someone can solve the spam mail issue, I am sure that this business will be a unicorn.

I hope that technology specifies the sender of spam email and get rid of the usage rights of the internet from them. Then, someday somehow, the spam mail issue solves in our society near future.

*Updated: December 1, 2022

The clicking the spam Facebook email is a month ago. On Cyber Monday, I noticed that I cannot use a credit card on the internet. I tried to buy digital books at Audible, but I could not get through it, rejected 3 times. I contacted Audible support and TD Bank support. TD Bank support said someone tried to use my card for Sory service or product, only 11 cents. TD blocked it. My personal credit card was dead after the call. I don’t know if it the cause by spam email or not, but this is not easy to protect as an ordinal consumer. Everyone has the potential to click spam by chance. Please be cautious.
