When I watched Bloomberg Technology, I sometimes hear the word, AWS. It’s a part of the business of Amazon and AWS is very profitable to compare to Amazon.
In June 2020, I am building a website for a client. I organize backend stuff, domain, hosting, account. I don’t know what the standard is, but I personally don’t take over any ownership between a client and a provider. In the current situation, the person who built a website for a client takes all ownership/payment. He charges an additional fee to the client as management. I don’t have an opinion about it. I make a rational structure for a client.
The website is hosted by AWS. I normally use Bluehost. You can find more cheap web hosts. I tried it before. Other hosts were cheap at the first contract, but I was charged much cost once I renewed. Therefore, I didn’t search web hosting for it for a while.
For this reason, I research AWS.

38 minutes long. I could know it’s a comprehensive and complicated. I am looking for web hosting service. AWS is a little overwhelming for it.
Amazon AWS
I created a business account on AWS. It was no problem. However, the featured services on the menu, it shows Amazon EC2, Amazon Simple Storage Service(S3) and Amazon Lightsail. I don’t think people can choose them clearly.

– S3 = Simple Storage Service.
– AWS is the volume base pricing. Be charged how much you used, how many times the page was viewed. It makes me feel anxious.
– Amazon’s shopping account works for AWS login, but I prefer separate private and business.
– Include www. Without www. costs $0.5/mo. hmm..

Web Hosting Service
I used Bluehost for a while. I don’t have a problem for 5 years. I can ask question for 24/7 even though I don’t have many chance to use it. However, when I introduce to clients, it’s helpful.
Conclusion: Overwhelming
I have no doubt that AWS provides one of the industry top services. They are a cloud computing company, not only web hosting servers.
I felt it’s overwhelmed for a small business website. I don’t know usage-based pricing is good. I feel ease in proposing a flat rate. I don’t add any fees and the client pays it directly.
In this project, the client decides not to use AWS. I will keep AWS as an option in the future project.
