Story: wilsonetander68@gmail.com
*I actually don’t know the purpose whether a scam or anything else.
I received an inquiry from Wilson Tander, wilsonetander68@gmail.com, through the Webflow Proffecional partner board.
I have a couple of weird experiences with an inquiry, but this is the first time to received it through the Webflow board.
Reply
This is coincidental, but Webflow includes CC when a user contacts Webflow professionals. So, that someone can check the same email. I replied to Wilson Tander including CC.
As you see Wilson Tander did not include CC, but this is not unusual. You may not notice. I responded to it including CC, but again, Wilson Tander did not include CC.
Thrid-party protection
It was a very weird discussion above. Wilson Tander wanted to send money to me, but I did not want to receive money directly.
I used Upwork, a direct contract. He rejected.

Conclusion: Why me?
I remind the question, why me?, when I received an inquiry. If it’s a local client or Canada, it is understandable. For example, there are a bunch of talented people on Webflow Professionals. There is no reason to contact me specifically.
I received the email from Wilson Tander this morning, but I do not reply anymore. You may have the same experience near future. Because name and email are easily changed. You may waste your time for a reply. Please take action below.
– Remind, why me?
– Ask a client to contact you through LinkedIn, or social media
– Always include CC, or the third party
– Search name and email on Google
– Don’t receive money directly from the first client
Please let me know if you have any ideas for protecting other freelance.
Best Regards,
