Story: AI (Artificial Intelligence)

The Year of 2001, a science fiction movie was released in the world.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

Produced by Steven Spielberg. As I said, it was told a fiction. However, our recognition has changed. It may be real in the future.

Nowadays, artificial intelligence gives us much controversy even though this movement cannot stop. I heard both opinions, positive and negative impacts.

Positive
– Prevent critical human error, especially the medical industry.
– Autonomation car decrease traffic accident.
– Predict natural disasters and inform people.
– Increase efficiency in daily life
– Support slow learner student  
– People don’t have to work for 40 hours per week.

Negative
– Generally speaking, the A.I. robot takes routine work from a human.
– Job loss rate will be increased.
– Like smarter chatbots, natural language processing that allows machines to parse through human language

*Please doesn’t imagine only human robot, but computer(programming code, no figure sometimes) robot as well.

What is Artificial Intelligence (or Machine Learning)?

Summary:
– Artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals.
– The year, 1956, half a century ago, a term of AI was announced by an American scientist, John Marcasy. He said machine could learn like a young child does, using try and error to formal reasoning.
– 90% data has generated in 2 years. It benefits for AI.
– Very soon, AI will become less artificial and a lot more intelligence.
– Machine learning is a hot topic. Machine retains the information become smart repeatedly. Unlike a human, short time memory loss, information overload, sleep interruption, and distribution.
– it is not human versus machine. it human and machine versus the problem. Artificial intelligence helps us accomplish more in less time. 

How smart is today’s artificial intelligence?

Summary:
– Automate news and video.
– Recent AI means machine learning.
– Currently, quite easy to correct huge data.
– Creativity is harder to automate.
– Most of today’s AI strength one task, but the company requires mulch task to people.

Summary:
– Knowledge is still powerful today.
– 60,000 worker will be replaced the machine at Foxconn
– A drone delivery
– Algorism pianist
– Voice recognition
– A robot can teach each other
– A machine could do a better reputable task, cheaper and better without vacation

How AI can save our humanity | Kai-Fu Lee

Kai-Fu Lee is a venture capitalist, technology executive, writer, and artificial intelligence (AI) expert. He is currently based in Beijing, China. Lee developed the world’s first speaker-independent, continuous speech recognition system as his Ph.D. thesis at Carnegie Mellon. He later worked as an executive, first at Apple, then SGI, Microsoft, and Google.

Not only AI, but he also mentions interesting topics. For example, cashless. Chinese people less use a credit card. Majority of people transact money by mobile, WeChat. In addition, a transaction fee is free. Apple might follow it. Interestingly, homeless people ask for money by mobile payment. Because Chinese society does not always accept physical money anymore. That’s interesting.

He talked about the meaning of life based on his experience which faced a death. Ideally, we want to work hard and work smart. However, there is no short cut to our success. We find the solution after we put on effort into our work. I haven’t been found an answer to a work-life balance yet.

Overall, it is a great story. Good to know.
