Story: Benefit of graphic designer
As I wrote the last blog, The Best City For Graphic Designer In Canada, I’m going to move forward my career to the next step in 2019. I prepared for it in 2018 reflected a lot of failure in 2016 – 2017. Now I know why I failed in the past.
– A website was not mobile-friendly.
– Mockup images are not attractive, not enough resolution.
– A message was a blur.
– Poor social proof.
I’m still working on for social media. However, I’m taking actions below. It will be easier once it’s a habit.
– Post once three days on Instagram.
– Share what I learned on Facebook.
– Do like on LinkedIn.
– Share quotes on Twitter.
– Share what I like on Pinterest.
– Post a blog once five days on the website.
In April 2019, I gradually felt fear to the future. I’m also slightly excited about what will happen to me within a few months. Compare to SpaceX which I watched the documentary last week, it’s a tiny ambition. There are many talented people, but I don’t have to compare with others. Focus on what I can do, want to do right now.
New York, NY
New York City comprises 5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.
The world biggest city, New York. I’ve never been there before, but I feel it’s the center of the earth. I lived in Tokyo for 6 years. It was not bad. The city repeats scrap and builds so rapidly. I could not discover all-district in 6 years. I do not think I can live in a big city. Especially I don’t think it’s a good environment for a child. Just for my experience, I would like to move to New York one day.
Chicago, IL
Chicago, Illinois, often referred to as the “Windy City,” is one of the United States’ most iconic and vibrant metropolises. Sports enthusiasts flock to the city to cheer on their beloved teams, including the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox in baseball, the Chicago Bulls in basketball, and the Chicago Bears in American football. The city’s transportation network is highly developed, with a well-connected public transit system and two major airports, O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport, making it a hub for travel and commerce. Chicago’s enduring spirit, cultural significance, and dynamic energy make it a destination that continually captivates both residents and visitors alike.
Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city and the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes.
San Francisco, CA
San Francisco, in northern California, is a hilly city on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. It’s known for its year-round fog, iconic Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colorful Victorian houses. The Financial District’s Transamerica Pyramid is its most distinctive skyscraper. In the bay sits Alcatraz Island, site of the notorious former prison.
Austin, TX
Austin is the state capital of Texas, an inland city bordering the Hill Country region. Home to the University of Texas flagship campus, Austin is known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues and rock. Its many parks and lakes are popular for hiking, biking, swimming and boating. South of the city, Formula One’s Circuit of the Americas raceway has hosted the United States Grand Prix.

Boston, MA
Boston, Massachusetts, is a historic and culturally rich city located in the northeastern United States. Founded in 1630, Boston is one of the oldest cities in the country and played a pivotal role in the American Revolution. It is often referred to as the “Cradle of Liberty” due to its significance in American history. The city is characterized by its cobblestone streets, charming brownstone houses, and a harmonious blend of modernity with its rich past.
Boston is renowned for its prestigious academic institutions, with Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) situated in the nearby area. The city is a hub for education and innovation, drawing students and professionals from around the world. The city is dotted with notable landmarks, including Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox, and the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile-long path that leads visitors through key historical sites like the Old North Church and Paul Revere’s House. Boston’s thriving arts and culture scene, world-class healthcare institutions, and culinary diversity further contribute to its appeal as a dynamic and thriving urban center.
Washington, DC
Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, is a city of great political, historical, and cultural significance. Established as the nation’s capital in 1790, D.C. is located on the east coast of the United States along the Potomac River. It is not part of any state and is instead a federally administered district. The city is known for its iconic monuments and government buildings, making it a symbol of American democracy.
One of the most recognizable features of Washington, D.C., is the National Mall, a vast open space lined with monuments and memorials, including the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The city is also home to the White House, where the President of the United States resides, as well as the U.S. Capitol, where Congress convenes. In addition to its political and historical significance, Washington, D.C., boasts a rich cultural scene, with numerous museums and cultural institutions, such as the Smithsonian Museums, the National Gallery of Art, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The city’s diverse population and neighborhoods offer a mix of cultures and cuisines, making it a vibrant and cosmopolitan place to live and visit. Washington, D.C., serves as a hub for both national and international affairs, making it a unique and influential city in the United States.
Seattle, WA
Seattle, a city on Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest, is surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests, and contains thousands of acres of parkland. Washington State’s largest city, it’s home to a large tech industry, with Microsoft and Amazon headquartered in its metropolitan area. The futuristic Space Needle, a 1962 World’s Fair legacy, is its most iconic landmark. – Wikipedia
Portland, OR
Portland, Oregon’s largest city, sits on the Columbia and Willamette rivers, in the shadow of snow-capped Mount Hood. It’s known for its parks, bridges and bicycle paths, as well as for its eco-friendliness and its microbreweries and coffeehouses. Iconic Washington Park encompasses sites from the formal Japanese Garden to Oregon Zoo and its railway. The city hosts thriving art, theater and music scenes.
Opinion: Imagination and reality
I’ve started to apply to companies mid-April. If I think calmly, this decision does not come up. How can I move to the United States? How do I organize my stuff? Should I through them away? How do I manage a bank account and a cell phone? I can come up with a lot of objections. How do I overcome these objections?
“Life is only one time.”
It’s easy to say, but actually many people do not take action. Reasons may fear, situation(family) or just wish, not strong will. I also feel these feeling as same as others. However, my life purpose is “meeting people beyond nationality”. It drives me even reckless.
