Story: Human and environment
When I was a child, I thought everything is up to me. In any circumstances, I can accomplish whatever I want. It’s partially true, but it is as long as the person has a strong will. And it’s not easy.
Human is influenced by the environment a lot. I mean it’s not only nature, but also people who surround us. We know that sometimes one trivial meeting with someone changes our whole life. Marriage may one of them. Silicon Valley is the most famous place for startups. is it coincident? Of course not. Environment affects people.
I doubt people who easily say I’m a startup or entrepreneur. It’s a really tough situation, in survival mode. A startup cannot be at ease. An entrepreneur is not a freelance. These are different mindsets. Even so, belonging to the startup community will be better for your professional career.
I don’t think that you need to stay only local to connect the startup community in 2021. You can reach out everywhere if you are open mind.

When I search for a startup, Start Up Canada shows up on the first page on Google. I do not like this logo. There are some pitch events. Encouraging woman entrepreneurs.
Generally speaking, we need to put on our own money and time for product development. Develop something, and we need to show some numbers which indicate demand, especially for APP. Otherwise, no one trusts us. A great idea may be okay, but in most cases.

I just heard about a local event, Vancouver Startup Week, from someone who I met at a local meetup. I have never attended it yet. Maybe next year, if I am in Vancouver at that time.

I attended a local meetup event at Gastown before COVID. Organizar was related to Startup Grind. It was a good atmosphere. I could talk with other attendants casually. I don’t know when that atmosphere will come back in our life.

Conclusion: Just do it!
I sometimes think of a product idea. I take a memo on a Notion APP. I cannot keep thinking about it. I have to think about daily work. I understand why many CEOs say stay focused. There is so much destruction in daily life and I forget a product idea easily. I have to prioritize it in 2022.
Gathering information is not startup. Take action if you have an idea. If you are faced with issues, you can pivot. If you pivot until success, you won’t fail after all.
