MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for Startups (Small Business) – Website
Developing Website (WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Framer, Squarespace) for Startup(Small Business) to Tell the Story
Overview
When I work with Upwork clients, they do not always need a full web design package, persona, user flow or mood board, etc. When they start a business, they just need MVP website, home, service/product, about, contact. They don’t need a clear mission, value or clear brand asset usage. They need to start a business as soon as possible, make their product public, acquire loyal customers. I understand that. I collected MVP(minimum valuable product) work of web design projects as a portfolio.
Nowadays, it’s not unusual to expand the business abroad from Japan. According to economic research, the Japanese population gradually decreases in the next 30 years. It’s a societal issue of the falling birthrate and the aging population. In parallel, the market size will be shrink inevitably.
Stuff Engineering has built a one-stop solution service for physical product development since 1988. They have a lot of experience in this industry and earn the trust of well-known global companies.
Stuff Engineering establishes a subsidiary in the United States (San Francisco) in 2020, but the pandemic has happened. They had to wait for active marketing in 2 years. It’s 2022. I had thankfully an opportunity to develop the Stuff USA website to introduce their expertise and achievement to the United States market.
A-Lex International Marketing, LLC (A-Lex) is the authorized distributor for HARDLOCK Industry Co., Ltd. I have been presented with a fantastic opportunity to update the Hardlock Nut USA website, which was developed quite some time ago and lacks responsiveness.
Hardlock Nut is a highly regarded brand known across various industries for its exceptional functionality. Hardlock Nut (HLN) incorporates a unique structure based on the traditional Japanese wedging principle, which effectively prevents any loosening under all circumstances. This is achieved through the use of two nuts – a convex nut and a concave nut – that fit together and wedge against one another.
One of the key features of Hardlock Nut is its proofed design, ensuring superior performance. As part of this project, I have meticulously organized all the relevant information and successfully implemented it on the new website.
With the website revamp, we aim to showcase the remarkable attributes of the Hardlock Nut, highlighting its unrivaled capabilities and demonstrating how it outperforms other fastening solutions in the market. The new website will be fully responsive, offering an enhanced user experience across all devices and screen sizes.
By incorporating modern design elements, user-friendly navigation, and captivating visuals, we will ensure that the Hardlock Nut USA website stands out and leaves a lasting impression on its visitors. Our goal is to create a platform that not only educates the audience about the product’s exceptional qualities but also reflects the professionalism and reliability of A-Lex International Marketing, LLC.
Through this project, we are excited to contribute to the continued success of Hardlock Nut and reinforce its position as a leader in the industry.
PPTI (Pipe Processing Technical Institute) is a subsidiary of a highly successful pipe bending company based in Japan, with a presence in the United States. In August, I had the opportunity to create marketing tools for the company, with a primary focus on developing a conversion-driven website. By applying a well-structured landing page approach, my goal was to establish trust and credibility through the website.
With over 60 years of experience, PPTI boasts strong skills and expertise in their field. However, a significant challenge lies in penetrating the local market in the United States. To address this, my strategy was to highlight the client’s unique benefits, including speed, competitive pricing, and uncompromising quality, particularly in the context of their next R&D project.
By effectively communicating these advantages through the website, we aimed to make a lasting impact on potential customers and establish PPTI as a reliable and sought-after partner in the industry.
Initial Description:
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your response.
The client is a company that provides credit card readers for small shops and businesses. We do have a logo, no brand guidelines really except for colours and fonts. I will give you all the copies of the website. I can purchase stock images if needed. The deadline is fairly short. If we could have 1 page early next week that’d be great.
Could you please give me a price for the below:
– The website will be 7 pages (including 2 pages for Terms&Conditions and Privacy Policy, so really it’s 5 real pages.
– 1 Concept
– 1 Round of amends on each page
– Using Figma or Sketch
– The design needs to be fairly simple but modern, similar to snapinspect.com
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Teddy

As you see on my website, I am focusing on the local customers, not the same nationality. However, I received an inquiry from Tonarigumi, a non-profit organization of the Canadian Japanese community.
Tonarigumi has contributed to the community since 1974. Even I was not born. I am middle of life (I suppose) and I cannot imagine how I get old, how my life looks like at that time. Inevitably everyone will need help at a certain point in life. The organization is meaningful and essential. I hope it will pass the baton generation by generation.
In October, I had a chance to use Wix CMS for a client project. I was thinking that it’s mainly a template website and I cannot customize it easily. Anyway, I quickly learned Wix UI on YouTube. Then, I found Wix Playground. It was a quite playful layout. The learning process is inevitable. I played Wix UI through this landing page development. Some function that Wix has is not easy on WordPress. I am going to utilize Webflow, WordPress and Wix platforms flexibly.

These clients contacted me through UpWork. I am not the cheapest option on the platform. I provided what I can do. After I earned 10K on UpWork, I don’t need to work with a low-price client anymore. I don’t have an opinion about them. Their price fits their business value. I think this way.
In the beginning, freelance need to work with them to get reviews. If you start to work with an online client, the budget/hourly both won’t match the time you spend. I understand the freelance’s struggled. Even so, you have to show your value by the result, earnings & reviews.
I appreciate all the clients who chose my service even they are a lot of choices in the market. Deep appreciation.
