Overview
Kiyukai, Vancouver Japanese Business Association, was established in November 1987, by a group of like-minded business owners residing in Vancouver, and was registered as a non-profit organization in 1993, in British Columbia, Canada.
The purpose of Kiyukai is to contribute to the development of Nikkei (Japanese in Canada) business through the discussion of common interest topics, exchange of information through events, and by providing opportunity.
Challenge
Kiyukai set up a website in 1993. Since then, it hasn’t uploaded basic structure. Therefore, it didn’t user-friendly, responsive. It had much text instead of images. There wasn’t a priority on contents. The client wants a user to read everything. It is common to desire as a client.
UX
I developed a website through user experience design below.
Research / Brand Attribute / Persona / User Flow / Wireframe / User Interface / Move Board
Requirement:
– User-friendly, responsive.
– Visualize information
– Custom form
– Improve efficiency of backend
There are several Japanese organization in Vancouver, BC. Each organization has a website. At first, I would like to tell a message to a potential member clearly, what is Kiyukai? How kiyukai help them? In addition, I would like to express active and challenge mind by visual.

Result
A project has started in December 2018. This project was required collaboration with the web developer. I built a project team. I wanted to accomplish the project with a fellow creator, but he was a little irresponsible, unfortunately.
During a project, I must deliver product/service on time. Better done than perfect. I pursuit great customer service. Less promise much delivery. I don’t allow any excuse. I don’t compromise about it. I gave his chance 3 times, but I couldn’t manage it. Hence, I built a website by myself. It will be my next subject.
Finally, I handed over the website on March 7th. I’m an honor to work with the organization which has a long history. I hope the website helps Japanese entrepreneurs to receive useful abroad information.
