Story: Story branding by Donald Miller
– How many graphic/web designers clarify a client’s message which a customer listens?
– Pretty websites don’t sell things. The words sell things.
– These companies, which does not know sales copywriting, grab your money regardless of you see the result or not.
Donald Miller, the author of Building a Story Brand, mentions above in 1 chapter. This is a hook(has a problem) which he also mentions later on in the book. This is a reasonable opinion. Therefore, I have a copywriter with whom I can collaborate anytime. However, the client’s budget often does not enough for it. What should I do?
I don’t think I can be a copywriter, too little vocabulary and cultural experience, but I, as a web/graphic designer, should at least clarify the client’s message. I have basic knowledge. I would like to be an advance.

– Increase conversion rate, urge click and leads
– Headline, value proposition
– Hook, story, science, supposition
– Problem, empathy
– Offer, give value more than the price
– Benefits, why should people buy it right now?
– Social proof
– Scarcity, sense of urgency, limited offer
– Risk reversal, what’s the next step
– CTA, mulch CTA on the page
These items are all reasonable, the formula of the landing page. The script, speaking speed, video editing are also good.
I searched “sales copywriting” on YouTube. Alex Cattoni dominants it. She has achieved over 100K subscribers by copywriting. Great positioning.

Conclusion: Communicate clearly, easy, simple, relevant, repeatable
When I choose my career, I had 2 choices, be a copywriter or graphic designer. I choose the latter. Because I thought a visual is stronger than words at that time. During my career, I realized that these 2 are quite relative. I do design. Because a client wants to inform a message to a customer. I start a design from the words. Without the words, it’s not easy to visualize.
Donald Miller tells us the importance of copywriting. I don’t have any objections. He writes about a better website in the book. My understanding is that a great sales copy is materials. A web designer is like a cook. Sales copy should be displayed clearly and attractively. We can make it better as well as destroy it.
Formula:
– A character
– Has a problem
– And meets a guide
– Who gives them a plan
– And calls them to action
– That helps them avoid failure
– And ends in a success
Website = sales pitch, show what customer wants
– Above the fold, the value proposition on the hero section, bold, but simple and short
– Promise
– What we do
– CTA
– Image of success
After all, a website is important for your business.
