Story: Video for a graphic designer
Kaiber is an innovative AI creative lab that encompasses Kaiber Studio and the Kaiber App. The Kaiber App serves as a creative platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI), specifically designed to produce videos and images based on user inputs. By offering text inputs called “Prompts,” users can generate one-of-a-kind assets completely from scratch.
I occasionally engage in video editing, and I find iMovie to be a decent option for most people. However, if you’re looking for a more professional experience, you can try practicing with software like DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere/Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, or Final Cut Pro. With smartphones readily available and platforms like YouTube accessible to everyone, there are ample opportunities for individuals to delve into video editing.
In my opinion, AI tools such as text/image to video have revolutionized the field of graphic design. Videos are highly effective in capturing the attention of customers across various platforms, as humans are naturally drawn to moving objects.
I recently put Kaiber to the test and was quite impressed with its capabilities.
Registration on Kaiber Vol. 1
It was straightforward.
– Signup button
– Form for an only email address
– Dashboard
Kaiber sent me email verification, but I was already dashboard after I sent the form. No credit card is required. Kaiber should mention it at the hero section to increase the number of the user registration.
Registration on Kaiber Vol. 2
When I accessed the dashboard, a pop-up showed up. I wanted to just enjoy a free trial, but it was a trick. Kaiber required a credit card through a pop-up. I did not like this flow. Kaiber mentions a free trial in a week, so I registered a credit card. I received a receipt by email like the image above. It makes users confused. Am I already subscribing to Kaiber? or Does Stripe cash back after cancelation?
I searched for how to cancelation, but it also makes me confused. I saw the cancel button on my account. I also see the cancel button on my Stripe account. Which platform should I take action on?
How to cancel
→ Nav → ID icon → Account→ Plan Status → Cancel
→ Nav → ID icon → Billing → Email → Access to Stripe → Cancel
I checked the price table once again.
$5 billed monthly for 300 credits
I can see a credit for 300 besides ID icon. Looks like I already charged $5.
Experience with Kaiber Vol. 1
The dashboard appears to be satisfactory. Upon initiating the video prompt, the user interface facilitates easy navigation. The right column showcases various styles. On the subsequent page, one can access options such as duration, ratio, and camera movement. These settings seem promising. However, I’m uncertain if it’s possible to specifically prompt for camera movement. Personally, I opted to prompt for runway-related content as I had tested Runway AI yesterday. Comparatively, I find the Runway UI preferable to Kaiber.
While browsing through the My Video page, I discovered a generated video. Unfortunately, there is a lack of explanation or accompanying details regarding its content.
While browsing through the My Video page, I discovered a generated video. I saw some icons when I did hover on the thumbnail. There was no explanation. I clicked the eye icon as a check. It made the video public. I don’t know where, but a user needs some guidance.
Experience with Kaiber Vol. 2
I tested a different style, photo real, but I liked the film style after all. The prompt is creative, even if I do say so myself. I expected a more dynamic outcome. I have to more clarify my prompt.
Experience with Kaiber Vol. 3
I was not sure AI can understand Crispr. Kaiber generated a scientific video, but it did not display gene editing.
Conclusion: Need to remove the user confusion
The product is okay. I could enjoy it. I don’t argue about pricing. It is just $5. I don’t know if I will subscribe to Kaiber right now. I tested Ranway AI a few days ago and I liked it. I assume that there are some competitors for text-to-video tools. Let me search for Kaiber’s alternative on Google.
Anyway, Kaiber needs to work on UX/UI.
