Story: Graphic design and A.I.
AI is booming in 2023. Every week some A.I. tools have published and not easy to follow all of them. Even so, I keep trying new products to increase productivity.
Adobe released Adobe Firefly beta. On August 12, 2023, it is free, but the community assumes that it will be charged in the future. Adobe XD was free a while ago. It requires the quire latest OS and I switched Adobe XD to Figma. After that, Figma was bought by Adobe. Design software needs more competition. Canva is great. We need 2-3 more to reduce the price even though Canva is good.
As a freelance web/graphic designer, I am trying to develop a co-pilot system. I tested Adobe Firefly.
Adobe Firefly
Firefly is the new family of creative generative AI models coming to Adobe products, focusing initially on image and text effect generation. Firefly will offer new ways to ideate, create, and communicate while significantly improving creative workflows. by Adobe

Output by template prompt is great. I tried to original prompt, but it was just okay. When the user downloads the generated text/image, Adobe shows a watermark. It cannot use for commercial in August 2023.

I am not sure it shows what I prompted, UC Berkeley, but the background removal was good. It was just one click.

We already have MidJourney, DALL-E, and Stable Diffusion. I don’t know which product takes a majority of users.
Conclusion: Commercial use is default
When a company releases AI tools, the generated output should be available for commercial use. Users provide data, time, and traffic to an organization, which is not without cost. According to the Adobe Firefly website, numerous tools are being developed.
Competition is heating up, and I cannot wait to see the new AI tools.
