Story: How to measure
We, as web/graphic designer, assume that a new website will work. We searched industry and competitors. We developed personas. We took each step, a mood board, sitemap, wireframe and prototype. We finally launched a website.
How do you measure it?
Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs or SEM Rush. We can compare the data, before and after, if it’s updating project. If it’s the first time for a client to develop a website, how do we measure it?
I am listening to The Lean Startup by Eric Ries. It’s for startups, but there are many interesting topics. Chapter 7, measure. An assumption/expectation are not good enough. We have to face a real number and data.
I know the term, A/B test, but I actually never try it. I watched the video on YouTube before. I would like to learn how to conduct an A/B test.

Google Analytics as well as Google Optimize encourage a user to use Google Ads. I heard the marketing expert does not use Google Ads. I don’t know the reality. SEO and the Google 1st page are very competitive and it takes time. Google Ads displays ads to the user and potentially clicks it. I don’t know it’s a competitor or not. That’s a real disadvantage of Google Ads. Every click does not come from the target audience, a very ugly battle there.
In 2022, Google dominants the search engine. Google is a very impressive business model. Without Google, I don’t know how a target audience finds us. Yellow Page? The change is inevitable. Learning is a choice. We don’t have a choice.
