Story: Stay in ordinary people
Many people might expect some hopes in 2021. However, I don’t hear much good news even though it has been only 10 days in 2021.
I don’t have a TV at home. So, I mainly stream local news and some global news on YouTube. I need to know what is happening in the US, Canada, and the world. We can only consume the information which we have an interest in on the internet. It makes me narrow my knowledge. As a graphic/web designer, I need to remove bias.
These new sources are too famous, but people who have preferences/biases don’t search in daily life.
Time Magazine
Time is an American weekly news magazine and news website published and based in New York City. It was first published in New York City on March 3, 1923. – Wikipedia
Rad flame of the front page, the person of the year is a symbol. I like the white space on the website, quality of the photos. World well-known publisher, but keyword search are decline since 2003. I am curious how to survive these paper media in the 21 century.

The New York Times
The New York Times is an American daily newspaper based in New York City with a worldwide readership. The Times has been regarded within the industry as a national “newspaper of record”. Founded in 1851.
At the hero section, it’s quite text-heavy. I feel it looks digital newspaper. If they do it intentionally, it will be part of the brand. A lot of footer menus may be an idea for making content for the portfolio as SEO.

Forbes
Forbes is an American business magazine owned by Integrated Whale Media Investments and the Forbes family. Published eight times a year, it features original articles on finance, industry, investing, and marketing topics.
I feel Forbes is very business and money focused media. Annually, Forbes chooses Forbes 30 Under 30, and 40 as well. It is an honorable award as a business person.

Bloomberg L.P. is a privately held financial, software, data, and media company headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was founded by Michael Bloomberg in 1981.
Bloomberg Technology is the one of category on the Bloomberg media. I often watched the YouTube channel.

Compare to historical media above, I feel Fast Company targets a much younger audience from images, fonts, and contents.

TechCrunch is an American online newspaper focusing on high tech and startup companies. It was founded in June 2005 by partners of Archimedes Ventures, Michael Arrington and Keith Teare. Currently, owned by Verizon Media.
There are many similar internet media. Once the generation turns around, they may increase the audience. It’s a few decade spans.

I don’t browse these media daily. I can say once a few months. I don’t have any bookmark on Google Chrome, zero. The reason why it happens is the iPhone. Apple News and Twitter show me the headline. I can access the news easily.
There are tremendous on a channel in front of us, TV, internet, newspaper, magazine, radio. Whatever you watch, let’s have curiosity in the world. Sometimes, the news which we didn’t know change our perspective. This is the value of the news.
